About

Who am I?

Hi, I’m Tam, and I provide communication support for children through play. Using modelling, shared interaction, and child-led activities, I support communication development in ways that feel natural, motivating, and engaging.

With qualifications as a Registered General Nurse and a Specialist Community Public Health Nurse (Health Visitor), I have spent many years working within community and child health settings. Throughout this time, I have seen first-hand the impact that communication difficulties can have on children’s development, confidence, and family life.

Alongside my nursing and health visiting background, I have completed a Level 3 Award in Speech and Language (Higher Distinction) to further support my work with children’s communication development. This training, combined with my clinical experience, allows me to offer structured, play-based support that is developmentally appropriate and responsive to each child’s individual needs.

Beyond my formal roles, I recognised a genuine aptitude and passion for supporting children’s communication through interaction, repetition, and play. Drawing on my background in health, early years development, and communication support, I now focus on creating engaging, supportive environments where children feel comfortable developing their language in natural play settings.

Private Speech Therapy | E-STIP for Children

My health and community experience includes working with children who present with medical needs, neurodevelopmental differences, and behavioral challenges. Each child brings their own strengths, preferences, and ways of engaging with the world. I place strong value on working in partnership — with the child, their family, and the wider team around them — to ensure support is consistent, meaningful, and transferable into everyday life.

What I value most about this work is witnessing the moments when a child becomes more settled, engaged, and willing to interact — when communication begins to feel less effortful and more rewarding for them. Supporting children to develop their communication within play-based, familiar environments is deeply fulfilling, not only for families, but most importantly for the child themselves.

Welcome to E-STIP (Encouraging Speech Through Interactive Play). I feel privileged to support children and families as they build communication skills through interaction, play, and connection.

Mission Statement

We envision a world where every child feels supported to develop their communication, share their ideas, and engage meaningfully with others.

Vision Statement

At E-STIP, we support children to develop their communication through interaction and play, helping them feel heard, understood, and confident in everyday situations.

E-STIP supports children who experience communication difficulties

Early Development

Becoming a parent is a natural and rewarding experience. Your child will experience many great developmental adventures that will shape and transform them into great human beings. However, the birth of a child is just the beginning of their journey, and often journeys can bring difficult situations.

Communication Development

Communication is a natural part of everyday life. When a child finds it difficult to express themselves, understand others, or express their needs clearly, it can lead to frustration and uncertainty for both the child and their family. These challenges can affect how a child engages with play, routines, and interactions with others.

Interactive Play

E-STIP was created and is designed to provide a private, bespoke individualised service that provides support to children and parents in those crucial years of development. E-STIP offers interactive play for children who struggle with their language development. Our primary focus is on helping children to reach their full potential.

Make Teaching Fun

The aim is to divert the focus away from the difficulties they are experiencing and channelling it into interactive play. Play is the main area in which children learn. It is proven to have a hugely beneficial impact on children developing their communication. By incorporating fun into teaching, it allows for a more memorable experience.

The Learning Pathway

Repetitive techniques shall be incorporated into your child’s play on a one to one basis. In addition, progress charts and rewards will become a part of their learning pathway. Homework will be set as a standard and is an essential part of your child’s progress. This routine encourages the discipline of practice and helps parents get involved.

Individual Progress

It is important to know that E-STIP is not a medical, behavioural or diagnostic service. If you have any of these concerns, please consult the relevant professionals. You should also note that every child will progress differently due to individual obstacles or diagnoses. It will be necessary to inform of any diagnosis that your child may have or any assessments or interventions that awaits.
